Alex Moving Inland over Mexico

Winds decrease to Tropical Storm Strength

Alex is the first June Hurricane since Allison in 1995 which breifly reached 75 mph,
and is the strongest since Bonnie in 1996 with winds of 85 mph.
In 1966 Alma skirted the Florida Keys  with winds of 125 mph.

The strongest  Hurricane in June was Audry on June 27th 1957
hitting Louisiana with winds of 145 - 150 mph killing 550 people.
